FedSmith requires attribution for any use of articles or information, including use of data from the individual federal employee salary database, from this site that is published in any form. Attribution should be provided as follows:

The data published on the Site are compiled from publicly available data provided by various Federal agency sources. Salary data contained in the Site are compiled by FedSmith from datasets provided by various Federal agency sources, including, but not limited to, the Office of Personnel Management, Internal Revenue Service, and others. FedSmith Inc. strives to maintain and update the data provided by these sources in a timely fashion, however FedSmith Inc. does not guarantee the accuracy or currency of any of the data provided on the Site, nor does it accept any responsibility for any data that may be missing or excluded.

Salary data of federal employees are considered by the Federal Government to be public information. Portions of the salary data (such as individuals’ names or titles) may be excluded or missing from the published data. This has been done at the discretion of the Federal agencies providing the data, usually to protect national security interests. Individuals who feel their personal information should be excluded from future publication to the Site should address their concern directly to the agency that has made the data available to the public, and not to FedSmith.
